....as another year is quickly coming to a close, and we look back at some of the events and activities that took place and is still taking place in our lovely "twin isle", I can't help but say that it is my view, that we Trinis are real funny, or just plain dumb and "suckers for punishment"...over and over, again and again...being treated like the idiots we are...all because "we just like it so..."!
...when I say funny, I am not talking 'bout funny like in ha,ha,ha,...I am talking 'bout funny like in "weird funny"...where the whole world is looking in and laughing "at us" and not "with us"....thats the kind of funny I am talking 'bout...the laughing stock of the world...thats what our esteemed and conniving politicians have made us into with their shenanigans and smart aleck talking us down and their "foot in mouth disease" answer and replies to issues facing us as a nation on a daily basis...!
...all the while the country is facing the highest murder rate in its history, it now well past 540 murders so far for this year, ...and the people swimming in their homes with all the floodings and mud and filth and debris...,and people being killed in their homes being covered by landslides...and rocks and boulders the size of cars rolling down the hills and damaging cars and properties,...and the recent polls saying that the "people are afraid of their own shadows"...and the people dying daily from "dengue fever virus" and the Mosquito Minister saying that the government is ony 10% responsible, the people are 90% at fault, and in fact, "dengue does not exist"...at all...?...and the roads and highways are falling apart with trenches opening up the size that could swallow trucks and buses...and inflation running like its in "high gear" at plus 15% and out of control...and food is now a luxury to most of the people...many cannot afford to buy groceries to feed themselves and their families...?????
....and the list goes on and on...the broken down schools and the school system, the police and sadly lacking security for the people...the robberies and even the messages not to come out shopping because of crime...the hold-ups at the banks and banking machines...???? and the list goes on and on "ad infinitum"....yes, in the midst of all of this...!
...up comes the Prime Minister saying that he have cancer of the kidney and he have to get it removed, and the "whole country star praying...ringing bells and lighting candles and singing hyms and having overnight vigils...they all back to "Woodford Square" praying and singing hymns and ringing bells...asking God to guide the hands of the surgeons operating on the Prime Minister, the very same man who is "running the country" for the longest while...or was that "ruining the country" for the longest while...?
...just when the people should all be praying that the country is somehow "saved from and be given salvation from the hands of mass destruction", from all of the very evils that are befalling the nation...no...they are praying for moreof the same...just like suckers for more punishment...they want more...and by gum, they got their prayers answered...and in quick fashion too...!
...so brace yourselves for more of the same in the coming years...because we like it so...strange how the health care system in another "poorer nation" is better than ours with all our billions of oil and gas dollars...strange how the Prime Minister did not need the 75 plus body guards in another country...his safety was guaranteed by a nation that has more poverty than ours...???
...strange how the Prime Minister now saying that this "poor communist country" has been giving him "Free Medical Care" for the past ten plus years and that they have "an arrangement in place" for reciprocal health care for carribean countries, and he had all this in his "back pocket all this time" and nobody knew about it, and all his people and children dying for medical care and he kept this all for himself all these years...all the while his people holding "bake sale" and "Bar-B-Ques" to raise monies to help get their dying children health care...and he living high off the hog on the backs of his people all the while, yet denying them all the very same essentials of life for them and their loved ones...???
...and it is even more strange that when asked about "succession planning" for the Party that has kept him in power for all these donkey years, 38 years plus, he said, "read my lips, I won't be here," so I take that to be "I don't care a fig about who replaces me", well he doing the same with the resources of the country, spending it out and living it up like a "drunken sailor"...because he has it and when its done, he won't be here...?...so much for the "Heritage Fund"...and the Gas and Oil Reserves of the country...plain and simple...he just don't care...he won't be here...?
...and all the while...the whole country gone into a crusade "praing and ringing bells and lighting candles and holding vigils and asking God for miracles for this very same man...who does not give a fig about anyone else other than himself...?
...we Trinis are really a bunch of jokers, we are really funny, weird funny that is...real suckers for more punishment...more and more and more...again and again...and the man laughing at us, just as the world looks on and doing the same...laughing at us...the funniest bunch of people on the face of the earth...and we like it so...!

I'm thinking ever more about Zimbabwe these days. It is estimated that 1100 people have died of cholera over dey - which is really a guesstimate because information coming out of Zimbabwe is so unreliable at this time. We could find out in coming months that tens of thousands have died of cholera.
In comparison Monkey Islanders muz be t'ankin' Gord fuh jes' a li'le touch o' dengue, water shortage, flood etc etc. Which brings me rapidly to the topic of Gord (aka God).

I am saddened by the death etc etc. However, my sadness is contaminated by angst at the stupidity I see in Max Richards' statement. Like my first thought was 'Oh really...so God engineered the accident...which also led to someone being in hospital with two broken legs...God mus' be ah real ass..to stop his/her runnin' o' dee universe to cause ah accident dat kills and maims people crawling aimlessly on a tine rock'.
Look eef I was God - omnipotent as I would be - I wouldn' need to engineer accidents and murders etc to kill people. I would find a more humane and non-traumatic way of taking back my 'beloved'. Ok - daize why I is not Gord, because dat kinda t'inkin' would be too stupidly simple.
Now Max Richards words seem to direct me to infer that he has a direct line to the mind of the almighty, to authoritatively inform us on the almighty's behalf, that the late Salandy had reached perfection in life and was now chosen for the kingdom of heaven. ...you see, this suits these "lame duck" Government Officials just fine, as they hide behind the doors of their offices laughing at the fools they are making of the people all the while collecting big fat salaries for doing nothing for it in return...all except party and fete and wine and jam ...and the people suffering in every which way, dying on the roads and while lying in the corridors of the Hospitals...while the "big wigs" living it up and telling the people to blame GOD when something, anything goes wrong...doh look at we, is GOD's work..?...is GOD's actions dat taking away yuh loved ones, is he fault dat dey getting robbed and raped and murdered and killed..not we...?...
...and de foolish people swallowing that crap and all praying and looking up in the sky for answers for everything...because the Government, 'their Government' have them helpless and depending on them for hand-outs, and waiting for "manna from heaven"...no food from the Government programs...? ...waiting for JUSTICE for wrongs commited against their loved ones...NO JUSTICE FROM GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS...?..No Safety on the Roads...none being administered by the Government...?..as dey say, when you going out driving on the roads, "you taking your life in your own hands..."?... so of you get in an accident or get killed, doh blame we, just blame GOD...is he doing...??
...recently, when murdered victim Devika's sister, saying that she appealing to her "God, MA KALI" for justice to be dispensed to the criminals who murdered her sister, and the rest of fathers and mothers in the past have all been "appealing to GOD for Justice" for their loved ones...some 2400 in the last six years...all waiting and asking GOD for Justice...not the Government...but GOD...???
...so yes, now when the President saying that its GOD's action that some damn fool going speeding down the roads and all by their lonely self hitting a post supporting the bridge, no other cars involved, and the passenger saying that their was a "dip" in the road and the car had an "accident"???,..and all that is GOD's work...she time had come...? .. at age 21 years..? all ah dis coming from the President...?
...if all ah dis is so true, den what is the purpose of "having a GOVERNMENT"...??? ..if all ah dis is GOD's doing, then how come Patrick says he is running the country, and now when things looking so bad, somehow this is saying dat GOD is Running de country...?

...so I have been looking on and saying nothing...because all this garbage they feeding the Nation, the whole bunch of Government Officials...all this will come back to bite them in "spades"...if they really and truly believe in a GOD...he is not deaf and blind...as the saying goes, "their time will come too"...from the top right down...!
...so Captain, don't expect anything sensible coming from the powers that be in this regime, they all singing for their supper...or maybe he had a "glass with ice in it in his hand at the time"...definitely not a "lotah with water and flowers"...dats for sure...?
...so all ah dis is GOD's actions...???...these people better watch out for "lightening"...they better duck for cover...dem dark clouds dat hang around and about for hours...like the Minister of Transport talk about...well it may just be keeping an eye on them for dat rainy day nah...! ...so if they have cocoa outside...well just look at the Prime Minister himself...seventy five plus personal body guards cyar save dem from the "maker himself"...so let them go on "bad mouthing and blaming" him for everything under the sun...!
