Friends Countrymen,
Once again I am baffled by the political hoopla from our citizens, this time from the firing of Dr. Rowley. Even opposition parties have been unwittingly caught up in the spin.
Am I to believe that despite dozens of useless projects and billions of dollars of wanton wastage by successive PNM Cabinets (of which he was a part), the holier than thou Mr. Rowley finally found the tenacity after seven long years to object and gripe about a paltry sixty room hotel? Oh no, the knight in shinning armor smelling blood after Mr. Manning’s fall from his flight of fancy of the jet, has poised himself to seize the leadership of the PNM, move in to the PM’s palace and give new life to the party faithful (reminds one of a silver fox maneuver). Citizens no doubt will believe that this one man can now reverse the incompetence of the Cabinet of which he was a part.
It looks like we are in for another ten years of fresh brand PNM wastage and mismanagement under a different leader since he will not be permitted to find new managers outside the party.
When Panday cunningly went against conventional wisdom and made ANR Robinson the President, I put it to UNC supporters at that point-one day we would then have to accept Manning as President and Rowley as PM in accordance to this the new precedent
Of course they rebuked me. What goes around comes around.
