Hold your heads and bawl like 40 Tarzans

This last election, the entire country of Trinidad and Tobago had a golden opportunity to fight crime, unemployment, inflation, corruption, wild spending, frivolous trips abroad and emporial mansions.
Unfortunately, the country chose to vote the PNM and Pa-trick back into the corrodors of power. Pa-trick then re-invented the wheel in his incompetent MPs, and so today we have crime and spending spiralling out of control.
28 murders since November 5th, and some of the most gruesome, senseless killings are making the news. While young mothers and pensioners are getting their heads chopped open and being strangled, our caring PM flies out to Uganda to promise them aid. I wonder how many people give to charity without first putting their own house in order?
We are saddled with incompetence for another 5 years. Guns are blazing, blood is spilling and the sunset is far off.
I hope that those who could have made the change and didn't, don't now hold their heads and bawl like 40 Tarzans.

...And just to make sure the people get the full brunt of all of it as a reminder for the future, just in case, he(Emperor Manning) re-instate Martin Joseph who is now saying that he did not know how hard this job was, and don't have a friggin clue as to what to do or how to address the problem. Then he(Emperor Manning) extend Trevor Paul's stay by another year so that he can demonstrate what incompetence is all about, as he is an expert at it, and then today, Roach (Asst Comm)is saying that crime is not as bad as last year, which means he too is in La-La land and collecting a paycheck under false pretences, not knowing which way the wind is blowing himself!.
But in true democratic fashion, the people have voted, and the die is cast, and they have spoken loud and clear, and the wrath of god has re-visited our country, because the "moral and spiritual compass" from the leader Manning is really that of Lucifer in disguise. So Trinis are in for the long 5 years of "hard labour" under his watch, because they missed the last bus, and now they can't get off this one again till the next stop next time.
They had so many reminders Jumbie, and it all fell on deaf ears, so like they say when you can't hear you will feel! So sad to say that but its the reality check, and the criminals are out in full force while Emperor Manning flies off to Uganda to check out his pals, like he really cares about his people back home.
So yes, 40 Tarzans you're right, but they still not listening,Trinis just too harden, they must feel! Unfortunately!

yeah trini too....and blame scholar, panday and de UNC for splitting the votes...especially when they knew they couldn't win
:-)
And by de way wha make scholar feel he is ah common man....he sound like ah petty bourgeois with internet access and plenty time on he hand :-)
Swingvote, you could say that again, because Panday and the UNC are not blameless in this whole affair thats going down. Pure greed and selfishness on their part, all for themselves, nothing or nobody else matters as far as they are concerned. Its what's in it for them not me or you or the country as they claimed! It was just put me back in power for just one more time for Panday! for his own "glory", screw the rest of the country so long as its all about him. And even with all the anti-COP propaganda and half truths about a "last minute accomodation", which was a total untruth, that is as low as anyone can get, not to be ever trusted again. The likes of "scholar" and his kind can "bow down" to the likes of Panday as their "guru" and "leader" but in the end, they can fly off to England or Canada or the States, but the people does not have that choice, they have to stay behind and take the "grind", "face the music", or like Jumbie says, "bawl like 40 tarzans", but all to no avail, the deed is done!
If only Panday had stepped aside and let Kamla take the lead, the people and the party would have stood united behind her as a leader, and even maybe Dookeran would have re-think a strategy to "associate" with her to move the country forward, and the outcome may have been quite different. But UNC had rather brought the country to its knees, than to let her take the lead or for that matter Panday stepped aside and let the country move forward, because his ego is too large to allow for that and he has to make his name for the sake of history. "But little does he know, he has already done that, except "history" will not be kind to him for what he has done to "his people and his country" in his last years of power, history will not forget, nor be kind!.
So now, Manning is back in control, and UNC now talking about giving him pressure in government, don't hold your breath, one wonders which one is the better of the two evils here, because they both look like the "devil and the deep blue sea" to me, although one already said he will make a deal with the devil to get back into power! Thats desperation! ..and the other, the deep blue sea, well we could swim like hell for the time being!.
Anyway, we the people, now have to pay the piper for "their mistakes", we have to pay the price for "their sins", and we have to suffer for their "wrong-headedness". Now we know what a real "maha neemakharam" is so we can recognize one next time around!
On a better and more positive note, I am glad COP is committed to stay around for the "next time" and hopefully we can make some impact on the message of change for the better, because this five years of experience we have to go through, I know will be a real test for the people, an unneccesary evil brought to bear on us by really "evil people" for their own greed and self satisfaction.!
Gladly, most of them won't be around for the next time around to fool and confuse the people, clearer heads will prevail then! Hope most of us will be here to bear witness though!
Patience my friend, patience! Time is the great equalizer, without fail!
Goodluck! Trini.t.o.o
I've always said that most of what is wrong in Trinidad can be blamed squarely on Panday. One man and one man alone taking the country down to the lowest levels it can go.
If only he was a stronger Prime Minister...
If only he was astronger opposition leader...
If Panday wasn't in a position to take effective action (eg against the corruption in his own party) then he was ineffectual in preventing others from taking us down; and it's all due to his own ego.
My solace is that at age 74 (?) the devil may be knocking soon .... since he is willing to sleep with the devil himself.
Hopefully, when these older heads are gone, younger, more intuitive and intellectual people can move us forward.
Aye boy Scholar, whey yuh dey?
Now is a good time tuh blame COP fuh dee whole mess. Come nah man! Like yuh cheups an' walk orf again or what?
