Sickening rape situation....melongene.

Well as others on the site have pointed out it seems that as the election frenzy is over, we now are into a wave of sickening crimes.
Rapes? Well ah doh know eef dat is yesterdays stale news. Ah hope not. I was about to attend to some chores when I glanced Newsday 2007-11-13. I had to stop what I was doing and read this short story of yet another sickening and psychopathic rape - of a twelve year old girl in Rio Claro. Gang raped - she is now fighting for her life in hospital.
Wasn't is Sean Luke where they took a sugar cane and rammed it up the boys rectum into his chest? What the hell is going on in Trinidad? Ah mean to say why on earth they must stuff a melongene into her. Christ man! It is as though they were taking some sick pleasure in all this. From so far off, all I can say is that my heart is with the victim, her parents and relatives. If anyone out there knows them, please let them know that we share in their suffering and sorrow as much as we can.
What is the real story in Trinidad with rapes? Anand Ramlogan wrote a series of articles on this many months ago. What now? Is the situation any better. I'm disappointed that our female supporters at the site have said so little on this most sickening of crimes called rape.
I've been studying reports of rape in Trinidad via the media for the last two years. It is my perception that rapes tend to be sicker and with a tendency to be gang rapes. How do women in Trinidad cope with what must be a constant fear? The country seems to be going sicker by the day!

My belief is that most of us are constrained by our ethics and concience to obey the law, do good for our fellow man, and live a productive life.
What animals are these who leave all of this at the wayside and give free rein to the beasts within them, not out of anger or from being pushed into a corner, but from the sadistic enjoyment of knowing they just can?
Well I totally empathise with Jumbies feeling's. Jumbie lost his rag here at his blog.
Ah mean everybody has a limit, man. But if jumbie venting steam and he 5000 miles away, one must wonder what going on in the minds of people dong in T&T. It must be 20 - 100 times worse! It can drive people to insanity and to take the law into their own hands.
There was evidence that suggested that 16 year old Rebekah Sugrim was raped and bludgeoned to death. See Express 2007-11-30.
Nobody in Trinidad & Tobago is safe any more. The situation is mad.
I can only express my deepest sympathy to her family and friends knowing that that will hardly do much. The loss cannot be reversed.
To recap, after the 2001 general elections which resulted in an 18-18 tie, then President A.N.R.Robinson appointed Patrick Manning and the PNM party in power based on "Moral and Spiritual Values"! This was without precedent!
At that time, there was an average of about 70 - 80 murders a year under the previous UNC government.
Yet, over the last six years under the Manning Administration, there has been over 1700 + murders in TnT, with an average of about 350 murders per year, and an ever escalating number of other crimes, including robberies, kidnappings and yes, "rapes" of the most sickening descriptions, and becoming more and more sickening daily!
But not a word from Manning on this subject, despite his "moral & spiritual values"?
They say that governments are voted in power to accomplish the wishes of the people in establishing the kind of society it would like to become on the world stage, which includes health, security, economic prosperity and the general well being of its people as a whole.
Under the Manning, "Moral & Spiritual Leadership", this has been receding into a cesspool of stench and inhumane behaviour, regressive and primitive in values, the people are being "conditioned" into accepting and believing into these values as condoned by him as the "new norm". I say condoned, because he has yet to say a word about it to the contrary.
More recently, the President Max Richards, said the "children of TnT were in great peril" needed guidance and help if they were to be saved, and he was correct. Then again, just last week, the students at a Princes Town high school were "rioting in the school yard" to the extent that the teachers and staff could not deal with the school gangs and their hooliganism and behaviour! They had to shut the school down and call the police. School children? Gangs!
While it is true that crimes takes place globally, the types of crimes and more particularly, rapes are much more reflective of the societal behaviours. Some of these types of deplorable behaviours are being established as morally acceptable and is now being passed off as usual day to day activities, with little or no importance being attached to them. We ask ourselves the question, why?
I know that some people may say that we have a tendency to blame government too much, and that we should be blaming ourselves. Well I disagree and do not share that viewpoint, in so much as what would be the reasons and rationale for "electing and installing governments" if they are not going to be held responsible?. What exactly is the government's role and responsibilities in all of this? Just to collect the $42 billion dollars a year of taxpayers revenues and do what, may I ask? Spend at their leisure and as they see fit for themselves? Who shapes and implements the social policies to ahcieve the end results that benefits the people as a society and as nation? Who?
In a column just prior to the elections, I posed the question, "What type of a Trinidad & Tobago do you want, and to think carefully as to who was the leader that was going to take you there"? I also said that "leadership" was important and it does matter in taking you there!.
Well, today we again have Patrick Manning, the "moral and spiritual leader" back in the reins of power, and guess what? His revelations, after his Salybia Resort party for him and his cohorts, and then flying off to Uganda, was to tell us that he does not have to convene parliament until March 2008 by law, and that his observations of crime was to suggest it was somehow politically motivated that the "opposition" is somehow influencing the increase in crime.
Forget about his legal obligations under the constitution, what about his moral responsibilities to the people in times such as these? In times of crises? What hogwash? What a Leader? What pompousness and arrogance?
But aside from all this nonsense being said by him, which is par for the course, what about his "moral obligations" to re-convene parliament after all this time, especially when crimes are escalating, and the rapes and robberies and kidnappings are on the rise again also? Where are his "morals", what about his "spiritual values"?
So yes, we have to thank Patrick Manning and his "Moral & Spiritual Values" for the sick and depraved society being nurtured and fostered under his "leadership and guidance", because that's what governments roles are, to influence the people and the country they would like to see down the road into the future.
Sadly enough, in this case, there is not much to look forward to in the future, let alone for his 2020 vision!
We can all feel sorry for the people, for the children who have to go through this "barbaric" behaviour and treatment, for the women who have to live in constant fear and anxiety of these types of primitive and degenerative crimes being committed on them, and an uncaring government, who have yet to speak about it let alone attempt to address it in any meaningful way.
Thank goodness for the "Moral & Spiritual values" espoused by Patrick Manning and his regime to bring us this far to date into such a sick, callous and uncaring society, to breed criminals with the primitive minds they posess, and the horrible crimes they commit, these "animals as an excuse for human beings", can you imagine if he was not that Moral and Spiritual" what would be the case? But we "steppin up" from "Dog sh*t to Bull sh*t, but we steppin up wid Patrick?
We would all be still living in the jungle, and maybe we still are and just does not realize it, because its Patrick's way, dog eat dog, the law of the jungle, survival of the fittest! Thats what he "preaches", flog them all? NO?
But what about the weak, the old and the sick, the children, the women and those who are in need of help? What about the "bible toting" pastor and his constant bible and scripture quotes? What does his "bible" say to this?
My deepest sympathy goes out to all those affected and their families in this so called "Land of Milk & Honey"!.
My sincere apology also for the world we have helped created implicitly for you to have to go through such daily suffering and pains and indignities! My apology, because we did not have the guts as a people and a nation to stand up and so NO! Not again! Enough is enough! We will not be lead again and again down this valley of shadow of death!
Some morals, some spiritual values, some sick society in the making! With moral and spiritual values like these being displayed by the Prime Minister, emperor, king, dictator, prince, pastor, or the chosen one, take your pick!
God help us all!
