Through the back door; in plain sight

When the framers of our present constitution first wrote it so many years ago, that was a time when the intent behind legislation was also taken into account, as well as the legislation itself. The intended aims of legislation can have great insight into how it is interpreted in court, hence its importance.

One of the conditions of the current constitution, is that a sitting politician, or one who has only recently been active, should not be allowed as President. I say should not be because we know how that went with Robinson.

Being active means that your loyalties are automatically divided. Instead of looking that the picture from the point of view of the country, the view seen might well be compromised by those of the party the President was involved with. Again, we see the results of this from Robinson, with the 18-18 tie and choosing a Prime Minister based upon moral merits. Word to the wise for Pa-trick... just because Robinson chose you over Panday (morally decrepit that he is), does not mean you are God's chosen.

Getting back to the point though, Pa-trick is reported to have chosen another sitting politician for President when Max moves in March 2008. Linda Baboolal is reported to the be the next President.

There is a disgustingly obvious problem with this but mark my words, no one will protest.

She has never had the guts to stand up to Pa-trick, and indeed her actions as senate president show support for the PNM (of which she is a senior member incidentally) time and time again. Not that she would want to; she knows which side the bread is buttered.

But alas, the glaringly open problem is that now Pa-trick will have a back door for implementing the draft constitution to make himself an Executive President; in plain sight of all. And we the population, are once again seeing how well planned Pa-trick's moves are. For those consoling themselves with thinking he missed that special majority in Parliament to stop his plans, think again.

You can now see where this is going; I hope.

I hope you can now kick yourself in the arse for voting PNM, those of you who did.

Ironically, the stumbling block might have been the CJ... as an independent and influential keeper of justice, he was in a strong position to stop Pa-trick. Guess what? The CJ was screwed over and removed, leaving Hamel-Smith, a PNM stooge like Linda Baboolal. The pieces are falling into place.

Watching this unfold is like getting raped with a big old iron bar.

Well it seems the UNC leadership is still reeling from the licking they got at the polls. Whilst most would have thought COP would be feeling it the most, Mr. Panday and his cohorts continue their bitter tirade. Elections are over! Yet these guys just cannot accept the results. They continue to maintain this ridiculous split vote mantra and disrespect and villify other citizens for exercising their franchise. Who does these ppl really think they are? Do they seriously believe they own people's votes? Do they really believe they could corner people's votes leaving us no choice but to vote for them? These people are simply out of their minds and should cease and desist from insulting the nation and the people.

Imagine when we are looking to put a brusing election behind us and look forward to Christmas, this party is holding meetings and basically trying to incite the people to de-stabilize the country. It sure comes across that way. And by the way that Jack Warner fella really needs some character - not that he has much in the first place. His money has gone to his head. Perhaps he should put some of this money to good use and buy some character since he want to buy everything and everyone else.

Not only do we have to deal with criminals and all else, we now have to deal with a sour organization who now wants to turn its people against each other....as if they haven't done that enough during the elections with all their radio station and credit union stooges. Even to this very day, they still have their hired callers and fanatics calling the radio stations pushing their propangda. This certainly does not qualify as a proper way forward.

They lost and election and still have not learnt anything from their lost. Hence the reason they have remained losers for so many years.

I hope the authorities take due note of these actions and move to protect citizens from the fire that these so-called leaders trying to ignite in the population.
