Pa-trick admits Executive Dictatorship

Stunning but true, nevertheless. The writing is on the wall, in big bold letters, for those wishing to see.

Some time ago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar revealed that she obtained a 'secret' copy of a draft of a new constitution as ordered by Pa-trick. Despite denials by Pa-trick and Christine Kangaloo, yesterday Pa-trick revealed that the draft constitution is indeed true. Not only that, he promised that there were more revisions to come.

Christine Kangaloo:

"That's all that has happened; read my lips. This government has no position on any draft constitution. All that dotishness that Kamla (Persad-Bissessar) is talking about is she may be still shell-shocked from getting passed over. If there is a secret constitution, it's a secret to us too."

Pa-trick:

"If a new constitution has to come to this country, the PNM will use the tried and tested method of consultation, ensuring that the people have the opportunity to say what they want and taking the people's views into consideration before any new arrangements are made."

This was said at a PNM rally in Mayaro on October 16th.

On Friday October 28th, when he delivered his feature address at the launch of the ruling party's manifesto yesterday at the Hilton Trinidad, St Ann's, Pa-trick said:

that a document that Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has described as a secret draft, dated June 2007, is actually just one of three versions of a third draft constitution in the making.

"One of the documents has ended up in the public domain, I am sure more will end up, my dear friends, a work in progress. It is dated what, June 2007, there is one subsequent to that you know. There might be two subsequent to that, so those who have been sending things in the mail boxes have been running a little late, the mail is a little slow," Manning said.

Now, I'm not so slow as to realise that Pa-trick just admitted that the draft constitution is indeed his.

If you examine what he is clearly saying, he is still in the process of revising said constitution. Hey, all this without public input or approval too.

Another thing... the present 'outed' version has eroded the people's 'rights ' significantly. What then is to come in the revised versions?

I'm am sure under the euphoria of elections patrimony (not given to 'grassroots', all ye hopefuls) that the entire population will miss this one. No indeed, if you miss the writing on the wall, it's because you have become blinded.

See the excellent analysis at Jumbie's blog here.

I agree Patos has actually admitted what he tried to deny.

Of course COP will be to blame - according to the mightly Scholar - for Patos becoming dictator; all because COP did not give into UNC - as Scholar believes they ought to!

Jumbie your analysis is on the spot. Captain also emphasized it in his contribution "Dumb Asses, Zimbabwe, here we come"!

Problem is no one is reading the writing on the wall as Jumbie talks about. The likes of "scholar" and his kind are all engrossed in "Pandaymania" and everything escapes them like water running off duck's back, blind to everything else thats happening around them.

Manning knows what his plans are, as did Ken Valley and others in the PNM, but no one else have the guts to openly talk about it and face the wrath of Emperor Manning.

Christine Sahadeo is just as dumb too and is perhaps very correct in that it is a "secret" to her also, well kept by Manning from her.

She is only a tool, a medium, through which to help achieve his own goal in the end.!

having agreed with Jumbie's analysis, and now seeing, reading and hearing of more and more "factual evidence" of the so called "Draft Constitutional Documents" which are surfacing, not only of Manning's response, but also other writer's comments on the same drafts, it leaves me to wonder if its really necessary to have the constitution revised? What is "pushing" this revision? Why is it so crucial to have it replaced? What exactly is wrong with it? And why now?

Manning is also very tight lipped in openly talking about it except to say that yes, there are several drafts, and if it were to come to pass, it will only be after "consultation with the public", something which I have little or no faith in, and also that the PNM Party Costitution will not allow for a "dictator", that to me is also a lot of "bull", as he is the dictator, who will over ride his decisions within the party?

Why would the PNM party be the "arbiter" as to whether TnT has an "Executive President" as opposed to a Prime Minister, and why would not the people of TnT be the ones by way of a referendum to make that decision, and not the PNM party?

Which brings back the question, why is this change so necessary in such a small country? In looking at much larger democracies, Canada, Britain, Australia, India, Isreal to name just a few, all seem to do quite well with a Prime Minister, so why the rush to change for Manning?

This is very troubling, and while Rome burns, Panday and his ilks are all fighting between themselves as to who will get to "drive the fire truck", who will get to be "the fire-chief", and by the time they decide - well Rome has burnt to the ground, there is no need for them anymore.!

As I said before, Manning is laughing behind their backs, he does not have to do anything much, Panday et al are doing it all for him, paving the way to his victory and on to his "Executive Presidency" with not much to stand in his pathway, except for COP, so wish them luck and hope the people remove their "blindfolds" and open their eyes and see whats coming down the "tracks"!

If they think its the light at the end of the tunnel, they might just be surprised and gets hit by a "train"!

With the likes of more of "scholars", this is a frightening thought, "the lights are on but no one's home", he and the many others like him have lost the ability to think for themselves, or to express their own opinions!

They're all stuck on Panday, their "Warrior", riding his white horsey to save them, but he still can't get on the saddle yet, while the "Emperor Manning" gets a cake walk to his "mansion" on the hill.!

Hope I'm wrong and the "emperor" never makes it, but far as I can tell, the only thing standing between him and the mansion is a "COP"!

Will they be enough, though, only time will tell?

Goodluck!  Trini.t.o.o
