The last prime minister of canada had a similar situation where his party hacks were responsible for swindling monies. After a full investigation and constant viligance by the general public that prime minister was removed from office on the basis of such allegations. Polls cleary showed that if there is a mishandling of public trust no amount of winding and turning causes the public to forget. When you do get to Toronto please use this poll - ask any Canadian (non-T and T ) if they would let a sitting Prime Minister accept 1 million dollars from a businessman, stash it in a foreign bank and fail to answer for it when asked by the institution set up to monitor public officers. You will might be suprise that Canadian sees this issue vary differently

Yeah but that is in Canada. In Trinidad we believe more in forgive and forget. Besides Panday would never thief from his people. The courts system is a stitch up...you can't believe everything you hear in court. That is for lawyers. Come to Trinidad breds let we show you how sweet this land is. Don't hurt you head about what you read in the newspapers.

 Diehard Trini

Dear Anand,

In his contribution to the debate on the equal opportunity bill in parliament very recently PNM MP Fitzgerald Hinds attempted to discredit the opposition by accusing them of fomenting racial conflict in T&T. This hypocrite needs to be reminded of the several rulings of the privy council finding the PNM government and its agents guilty of racial discrimination against citizens. Could you please list these rulings in your column for the benefit of the country.

I think the last one was the ruling in favor of the Maha Sabha and their application for a radio station.

This country is showing more and more biasness everyday, it is becoming more depressing by the minute, I am almost ready to packup with my family and head to Toronto because lack of unity and/or common sense on the part of the opposition will allow dem bandits too remain in power. If I am victimised their it wont hurt too bad

Lets join, lets collaborate, lets be resolute, lets stay in the midst of the darkness, for day always follows night!

Breds, doh wait too long to packup and head for Toronto.

The disease dat affecting Trinidad already hit Jamaica, Guyana and Haiti. From time to time there might appear to be minor improvements - like a temporary drop in murder rate of 41%. Dat does happen. But sure enough the disease continues.

It is a nasty socio-political pneumonia. Dee nation might be anaesthetised by a wash of oil dollars, but sure enough dat go run out. Dem idiots in power go get caught wid dey pants dong. Watch and see - not soon but maybe in 10 - 25 years.

Enough dam nonsense happen in T&T over the last 10 years to know whey things heading. So doh let Manning and he merry men fool yuh.

Jump ship now.

Things must get better in Trinidad. It not as bad as most people make it out. The media keep selling horror stories. T and T is still the best place in the world to live - trust me.

If Panday become Prime Minister all things will really get better. Watch.

Running of to Toronto is not necessary as yet. They have crime and rapes and guns up there  too.

We must now DEMAND the Resignation or FIRING of Mc Nicolls and Manning .
